Teaching, sleeping, and traveling

This morning I headed to Takehito's for his lesson since he had gone to Osaka this weekend for business. I think we were both off to a slow start because when I got there he was making a banana shake and made an extra for me. It was pretty good. After the lesson his girlfriend cooked a pasta dish for lunch and salad which was good.
I was still pretty tired from the night before so when I got back home I took a nap for a couple hours. Around 3:00 Kevin and I met up with Eri in Meguro and headed to Kamakura. I hadn't really been there for a while and it was cool to see the area at night.

From there we headed to Yokohama and went to Cafe Tusca in the Pan Pacific hotel for dinner. Eri had some gift certificates so it was all free. The place was really cool though. The view from the restaurant was great and there was a live three piece jazz band playing. The service was great and the food was even better. After an extremely satisfying meal we walked all around Yokohama.

Work and out in Roppongi

Had work like usual. After that I stopped home and got ready to head back out. Kevin and I headed to Roppongi where we met up with Aki and some friends for Korean food. It was pretty good and we ate a ton. It was cool cause they had grills on the table and cooked a ton of food, followed by a huge plate of meat which was also cooked and eaten. From there we headed to A971 where we met up with some friends from school. About an hour later we all headed to Muse.

Meji Jingu and Roppongi

Today Kevin and I headed to Meji Jingu and saw a funny wish thing there. After that we headed to Aoyama and checked out the Honda headquarters. We headed back to Nishi Koyama and Kevin got a hair cut in Japan. The girl cutting his hair loved him, it was hilarious. Then we headed out to Shinjuku and met up with some of the Korean kids that I went to language school with. It was pretty cool and we ate a ton of Yaki-Tori. From there Kevin and I headed to Roppongi and checked out Midtown, Roppongi Hills, Oak Door Bar, Heartland, and A971. It was pretty dead so we stopped over at the Hard Rock Cafe and then walked through 911 before heading home.

Shibuya and work

In the morning, Corrigan and I headed to Shibuya, got Subway for lunch, and had a Krispy Kreme donut for desert. After that Corrigan hung out in Shibuya for the day and explored and showed off at one of the bass guitar shops there. I went to work and we both got home around the same time. My good friend Yumiko was in town so I met up with her for a bit and headed home.

Work and driving around

Worked today like usual. After work I headed home and Corrigan and I headed out to Kawasaki and met up with Mason. We headed to a sushi shop that Mason knows, but it was already closed, so after that we went to the game center where Mason won a couple prizes from the UFO catchers. I didn't think he would be able to win one of the prizes which is a hat so I made a bet that if he wins it, I'll wear it and wound up wearing it. From there we went to Mason's place, got in the Skyline and stopped over at a Ramen shop for some food before heading out. It was a Tuesday so not too much was happening, but we stopped at the usual places, Daikoku, Tatsumi, and Shibaura. Saw a couple cool cars and a girl in a white RX-7 raced and beat us on the freeway. The Skyline just doesn't have the suspension. Good thing Mason is trading it for a Silvia S15.

Tokyo, Asakusa, Shibuya, and Shinjuku

Headed to Tokyo to check out the Imperial Palace and then took the train to Asakusa and looked at Senso-ji and the drum shops there. After that we headed to Omotesando to walk around a bit and check out the Uniqlo UT shop. From there we walked to Shibuya, checked out some places and then went to Shinjuku where we met up with a friend and went to Rakeru for dinner. Finally we went to the 8-bit cafe, had a drink and went home.

Odaiba, Bowling, and Ootoya

Headed to Odaiba today. We got there around noon and were kinda hungry so we went to Kua'aina for lunch and then walked around Aqua City, Decks, and headed to Venus Fort. On the way to Venus Fort we sat some good Skylines parked in the parking lot so we took some pictures. When we got to Venus Fort we walked around there stopped over at Zara and then Went to the Toyota History Hall, Mega Web building, and Design Studio. They had a cool display of older exotics at the History hall and we were able to check out the wheel chair things at the design studio. After that we stopped in at the Leisure Land and then headed back to Decks where we went to Sega Joypolis. It's pretty crazy and it's huge. There are a bunch of rides and games. The one that we played with Initial D where you sit in an actual car which moves based on how your drive. It was pretty awesome!

From Daiba we headed to Tamachi and met up with Witter for bowling and then went to Ootoya after for dinner and headed home.

Work, Ebisu, and Roppongi

Headed to work today like usual. Corrigan was feeling better but now had a cold so he just stayed home and watched "the Office". When I got home he still wasn't 100% so I met up with a friend in Ebisu, we took some pictures and then headed to Roppongi where we walked around and looked at the light displays at Midtown and Roppongi Hills are pretty cool. There is some kind of art thing going on at Midtown and that one picture is of a bunch of mirror clocks with peacock feathers attached to the second hands which I found to be pretty creepy.

Going places

Friday we went to Harajuku and Omotesando but Corrigan wasn't feeling to well so we headed home early. On the train it was a little crazy cause he kinda passed out, but some girl gave him her seat. I think she liked Corrigan. Then we got back and things were better so we went to Saizeriya for dinner. After that we spent the evening watching "the Office".

Work and Party

Today we slept in, in an attempt to recover from the night before. In the afternoon till the evening I worked. I met up with Charles in Tamachi and we headed out to Roppongi. We went to the Oak Door Bar in the Grand Hyatt. To get there we passed through a huge heated garage that was filled with Ferraris and other luxury cars. The Oak Door bar has a super high class feel and look to it but we weren't really feeling it so we headed out. Went to a club near by and met up with the guy who was the head of the Career Center at Temple. He's working as a headhunter now and still a very good connection.

Touring Tokyo

In the morning, Corrigan and I headed to Mita and checked out the school. Andrew was out, so we headed to Akihabara to check it out. Went to Super Potato, Mandrake, and a couple other places around there. From there we headed back to Mita and went to Ramen Jiro for lunch. When we finished eating we went back to school to rest a bit from eating the Ramen.
We went to Ginza and checked out the Nissan Showroom and the new Z. Now that I've seen it in person and sat in it, I like it. From there we met up with Andrew and he gave us the tour of his place, but he was charging a lot of money so we just got a Futon and some blankets and headed back to my place. After that we headed back out to Shibuya for a party at a place called Kawara, which was pretty cool. When that party finished we we headed to a place near by called Pasela Resort and hung out there for a while and took a taxi home.

Final 5 of 5 and meeting up with Corrigan

Had my last final today for HR. It was pretty hard actually. We were able to make a sheet to use during the test, so I guess that is why it was harder that most tests.
After class I stopped home got some stuff together and headed to Narita to meet up with Corrigan. When I got there he was exchanging his dollars for yen. We both took advantage of the Narita Express Suica pass discount and headed to Tokyo. We stopped at my place and dropped off his luggage and headed out to Hiro where we met up with Mason and went to the New Sanno Hotel for dinner and met up with some of my other friends from school. It was raining so after we just headed home.

Final 4 of 5 and some work

Took my most difficult final today. I think I did ok, but we'll see. Finance is a dumb class because it teaches a bunch of theories that you never use and a bunch of math that can be done easily on any finance related website. I guess it is worth while to know how to calculate the exchange rate when I can just go to xe.com for a much more accurate and quick conversion. Guess they have to keep the Colleges functioning somehow.
After the test I worked on the "cheat sheet" for HR and then went to Shinjuku for a haircut. I headed back home, showered headed to work, did a couple lessons and headed back home. The HR exam is funny because we are allowed a full sheet of paper with anything written on it, so everyone just shrank all the PPT's down and printed it out. I'd argue that the entire test is a waste of time, but if I had to actually memorize the stuff and forget it right after it would be about the same, so I guess this is better since I will get a better grade.

Study, Study, Study

Got up and started studying for the finance final. It's bad. Around 3 or 4 I got some calls from Charles and my friend Christian saying they want to study. Charles was already out in Shinagawa at the Wired Cafe so Christian and I met up with him there and studied till the place closed at 11:00. We ate both lunch and dinner there and they have a really good taco rice too so I had that for both meals.

Work and Tokyo Tower

Headed to Takehito's in the morning like usual and then to work. After work I headed over to Tokyo Tower to check out the light display that was going on. They had it light up rainbow style and there were people all over the streets watching and taking pictures. Japanese are really good with lights and things that light up.

Final 3 of 5, interview, and the Onsen

Had my microecon final this morning. After studying for finance for a bit I headed home, took a short nap, and then got ready and headed to Shibuya for my interview at TrainTracks, a PR company that deals with foreign companies trying to break into Japan. The interview went well and I was offered a job starting in February. Good stuff.

After that I stopped home, changed, and headed out to Daiba to meet up with the host family and Andrew and go to the Onsen. They had the bridge lit up rainbow colors earlier this year, which is always cool and Tokyo Tower has been light up different recently too. Good job Japan.

Law Final and a Mugen Civic Type R

When I got to school today one of my friends told me that he was driving a Mugen Civic RR. Honda only made 300 in Japan so it was pretty cool to check it out. It had a lot of Carbon Fiber, Changes to the wheels, breaks, and a lot more. The engine revs up to 9000 rpm and it looks pretty cool. After I checked that out I spent the afternoon studying for the law test and then took it and headed home after a bit more study for finance.

Last day of school before finals

Handed in the last Microecon homework and took the last test. Then headed to Finance where we did some preparation for the final. In the afternoon we had a pizza party in law since it was the last day and talked about the semester and how we did. In the evening some friends and I all went to the New Sanno hotel in Hiro where we were able to enjoy some American food at American prices with the extra benefit of the weak dollar making everything even cheaper. Guess having friends who were in the military is more beneficial then you might think.
